Bezzera Unica adopts the conventional E61 grouphead, which is always revered as the benchmark for commercial quality. This is a single boiler, it can’t brew and steam at the same time and it’s recommended for users who drink mostly in coffee black.

The E61 groupheads had been used for decades for commercial usage.
Users can do preinfusion techniques if they find necessary.
The thermosyphon system will cycle hot water to the grouphead just like any E61 system.
Brew Pressure Gauge
Features an important brew gauge, useful for identifying any anomalies during brewing and a PID temperature controller to ensure your machine is ready at the right temperature.
The E61 uses a thermosyphon system to stabilise the temperature the grouphead.
For the E61 grouphead with a single or heat exchanger system, if the boiler is lower than 2 litres. It’s found to be considerably unstable in the temperature during extraction. As there’s too much hot water out with fresh cold water pumped in, it will create a drastic drop in temperature in the boiler which can lead to lowered temperature in the grouphead from the themosyphon system.
To overcome this, the Unica’s boiler does not refill boiler on its own, the user will have to top up manually after the extraction, so cold water won’t get mixed in in the process. This increases the stability of the temperature.
The machine comes with a PID temperature controller which also sets whether the machine is in steam or coffee mode. The PID has an easy to read display to tell the user the temperature the users is on.
A safe material with natural anti-microbial properties to continuously kill greater than 99.9% of bacteria that cause hospital-acquired infections, keeping water in the boiler always potable. One of the most conductive metal on earth, making the machine very efficient in starting up and recovering from lost heat. Will never rust like Stainless Steel, or release lead from Brass, will only oxidise and increase its antimicrobial properties as its age.
It is very easy for anyone to use the E61 system to produce an espresso.
However, because it’s a single boiler, it can’t brew and froth at the same time. Thus, it’s more recommended for users who prefer drinking espresso purely. If you do thought of drinking cappuccino, the machine has to be manually set to steam mode and it can still produce a good amount of steam power.
The PID can ensure that the temperature remains constant with little variance.
Warning: Be careful of hot surfaces, water and steam at all time.
Do not allow vibration pumps to activate for more than 2 minutes, allow a half amount of rest time for any long duration of activation .
Do note that the boiler has to be refilled manually, particularly for the opening use and after frothing extensively. Failure to do so, will dry the boiler and cause damaged to the heating element which will not be covered by the warranty.
